Independence day in Central America
On the 15th of September, all countries in Central America (apart from Panama, who celebrate its independence from Spain and Colombia in November) partied for their independence day. Central America set itself free from the Spanish rule on this date in 1821, in a mostly pacific process. Thousands of people paraded in the streets of the region to proudly assert their national pride and citizenship, and the fraternity of “Centro American brothers countries”.
